So I was reading in Game Informer Issue 210 October 2010 and I saw this Article called Enemy of the State. It was about law Limiting the sales of video games to minors.The law eschews ESRP ratings and "Demands a new system of ratings" . It defines a violent video game as a game in which you have the options of killing, maiming, dismembering, or sexually assaulting an image of a human being. If a retailer sells a game that fits into this category, no matter how violent, to a person under 18 retailers would be subject to a $1000 fine, which would result in retailers being hesitant to stock any games, resulting in less new games being developed.
This law has been contested twice under first amendment freedom of speech, and is now going to the Supreme Court for final a decision.
What are your thoughts?

As a gamer, I'm outraged. But I've been to public school lately, I've seen what kids are like today. From what I've seen, the world scares me. So one part of me agrees limiting this could help. But once again, that's saying a whole group of people can't handle one thing.

Yeah, there's that too. So you'd basically be limiting teens choices, and saying a=only adults can handle it. But if you ask me, adults can kill mush more easily.

What bugs me is that they aren't doing something like that to violent movies and books, Just video games.

I'm mad...How the heck am I supposed to learn anything about games...This is stupid. Then we only get to play little kid games and die of boredom.

That is annoying. I suppose it has something to do with thee fact that in video games you control the character. Honestly I don't think it is really that bad if it's cartoony or censored.
